Ok, here is my very first post. I can't help but it has to be about the elections for the US presidency & the obvious media deception - from a non US and personal point of view.

To many in Europe it may already appear strange that an under-performing president in America automatically qualifies as the preferred  candidate of its associated party, the Democrats, in the current scenario. While the Republicans are flip-flopping between their preferred candidates amongst perhaps a dozen, the Democrats don't even seem to bother conducting test or "straw polls".

As usual the differences between the candidates are marginal, virtually non-existent in the important issues (foreign policy, debt, economy). There is however, one man who already stood out in the previous elections but was actively excluded and downplayed on many occasions by the mainstream media.

I still remember how I finally googled his unfamiliar name and watched him for the first time on You Tube a few years back. It did not take long and I have become a firm supporter of congressman Dr. Ron Paul. At the same time I was shocked about the lack of respect mainstream media showed towards this man.  How dare they  did not tell me (and the world) that the status quo finally has a real serious challenger!

To me Congressman, Ron Paul is by far the most courageous, responsible,   reasonable, knowledgeable, respectful, trustworthy and honest politician with fantastic  debating skills and an elephant skin, I have ever seen.

I do find it difficult to believe that anyone who watches a minute of  any of the hundreds of thousands videos on YouTube or read any of his excellent books, could believe otherwise. Virtually all of them get 4 or 5 stars on amazon and at least one was a New York Times bestseller.

Even the rating system on YouTube indicates that less than 1 in 100 people dislike what he is saying - this is a rather rare phenomenon amongst YouTube commenters and certainly for politicians He is also the only one where I feel, I actually learn (!) something  each time I listen to an interview or speech of  Dr Paul - in particular about the different schools of economics, the US constitution, civil liberty  and foreign politics.

He still seems to be the only presidential candidate that actually proposes significant changes in the areas that matter most in these troubled times:

  • bring the troops home, stop intervening in other countries, stop maintaining nearly 1000 military bases in over 130 countries. Stop the decades of undeclared wars that cause aggression towards the US in many other countries. Save trillions while removing the motive for terrorism.
  • stop borrowing and deflating the US dollar, allow gold to circulate parallel to the dollar. Remove or restrain the powers of the private corporation that controls Americas money supply. A company that has not been audited since its secretive creation in 1930: the "federal" bank (FED).
  • adhere to the US constitution; protect civil liberties and responsibilities
  • shift many powers and legal decisions from federal to state level so congress can focus on real national issues more effectively (abandon large ineffective and expensive government departments)

Ron Paul is currently fighting for the American people's liberty, global peace, economic survival, the middle class and above all, the return to a true democracy against corporate controlled media that like to maintain the status quo for corporate profit and control (continuous warfare, increasing debt, gradually reduced civil liberties ).
Several official polls indicate that Ron Paul, with his outstanding long (constitution) consistent track record as congressman, can beat Barack Obama as the world loses faith in Obama's ability to accomplish real change.

In the video below you can see how he gets disrespectfully attacked by a Fox News moderator (!) and Rudy Giuliani in a 2008 debate - like no other candidate I have ever seen. Ron Paul's response, however, was so brilliant and well received by the audience hat they never showed this on Fox.

I personally don't think it matters how much he overlaps with the political left or right or Libertarians. What matters is that as president he would have the power to bring back the troops but for virtually all other issues he would have to go through approval by Congress.

Maintaining a thousand military bases in 130 countries and decades of aggression and killing are the true reason why the US would be targeted by terrorists, citizens  forced to give up more  civil rights every year and why the country faces ever more increasing debt,  high inflation rates, a disappearing middle class and financial collapse.

In contrast to Obama, most previous presidents and all other current candidates, Ron Paul has proven over many years that he would not ignore the US constitution (the current and past scenario) - and actually ask for approval by a majority in Congress. This would indeed be an amazing development/revolution in the US government and place the US back on the list of true democratic countries in the world.

As the champion for true democracy and peace, it is hardly surprising that Ron Paul gets tremendous support  by a huge number of people who access  non corporation controlled media like the Internet or other independent media. Unlike other candidates Ron Paul has fan sites all around the globe: in Europe, Canada, Australia and more.

Despite the obvious mainstream media deception Ron Paul broke records in collecting campaign contributions, wins TV debates according to the viewers, scored first in many test polls,  millions of people watching his videos "like" him, predicted the housing/mortgage bubble, and he received more money from the US military personnel than all other candidates together.

Ron Paul, who was fundamental in the creation of the successful Tea Party movement, stands for maximizing homeland security and saving hundreds of billions by stopping preemptive terrorism provoking wars, lower taxes more reclaiming lost civil rights and less time consuming and ineffective bureaucracy. Above all he would  remove the dictatorial powers  of presidents and return to democratic decision making in the government. How could anyone with no ties to the military industrial complex even consider to vote for someone else?

In the absence of major weaknesses, the  corporate media in a desperate knee jerk reaction, have been trying to paint this rock solid highly skilled and strong courageous gentleman as  "unelectable" (!) - even going so far to lie that he has only a handful of supporters, ignoring their own polls and millions of YouTube users.

Strange things humans do, indeed.
